Looking forward to 2029 AD

Why is it important to look forward to this pivotal year? Why am I interested in telling people about it?

For a long time, people who study Bible prophecies, Cults or Orthodox Christians, have been assigning or at least building expectations around relevant dates that mark certain phases.

Jehovah's witnesses have been the best failures in assigning dates. They started by 1884, 1887, 1914, 1925, 1975, generation of 1914.. Etc. Seventh Day Adventists had one failing prediction of 1844. Recently, some small groups of Born Again Christians started also assigning some dates.  May 21, 2011 was one widely marketed date, while Hal Lindsay assigned the generation ending 1988 to witness the end of the world. All of the above dates did not witness anything unusual, in the supernatural sense of the world.

Now the question arises: Are we supposed to know when Christ will come and the end of the Current world will be reached?

1. The Bible clearly says that the exact dates are God's mandate, and people should not assign a specific date for the end. When the disciples asked Jesus whether the coming of the Holy Spirit will bring with it the reign of Israel, he answered: "“It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. " (Acts 1: 7).

2. Still the Bible clearly teaches that those who live in the light of Bible Knowledge will not be surprised by the second coming of Jesus, as they live in the light. " For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.  For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.  But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief." (1 Thessalonians 5: 2-4)

3. In all cases, and though we can never know exactly when the events mentioned in the Bible will occur, we still can live with a mentality of expectation which is highly encouraged in the Bible.

Now, why do I believe that 2029 AD is a year of importance?! Is it because the Astronomers are expecting a potential collision with an asteroid? Though this can be a sign of the end times that Jesus and the apostles mentioned (Revelation 8: 10; Revelation 9: 1; Matthew 24: 29...), still this is not the reason, actually I only heard of the 2029 collision after building my high expectations for 2029.

Let us look at the reasons:

1. Jesus was born in 4 BC not point 0: Catholic Pope Benedict recently shocked the Biblicaly unacknowledged people of the world with a fact, that I knew years ago. What he said is that Jesus was not born in the date that people think but rather He was born in 4 BC. The Pope wrote:

“One initial problem can be solved quite easily: the census took place at the time of King Herod the Great, who actually died in the year 4 B.C. The starting point for our reckoning of time—the calculation of Jesus’ date of birth—goes back to the monk Dionysius Exiguus (+ c. 550), who evidently miscalculated by a few years. The historical date of the birth of Jesus is therefore to be placed a few years earlier.” (Infancy Narratives - November 2012)

Based on this fact, the Crucifixion of Christ did not occur at year 33 AD, as people think, but four years earlier i.e. 29 AD.
Thus, year 2029 marks 2000 years exactly after the Crucifixion of Jesus, the Christ

2. Jewish Tradition since nearly the day of Jesus explained the Bible History of man will last for 7000 years:

The Jewish Encyclopedia declares:
The Perso-Babylonian world-year of twelve millenniums, however, was transformed in Jewish eschatology into a world-week of seven millenniums corresponding with the week of Creation. The verse, "A thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday" (Ps 90:4) having suggested the idea that the present world of toil is to be followed by a Sabbatical millennium, "the world to come." Of these the six millenniums were again divided, as in Parsism, into three periods: the first 2000 years devoid of the law; the next 2000 years under the rule of the law; and the last 2000 years preparing amid struggles and through catastrophes for the rule of the Messiah ("Eschatology," The Jewish Encyclopedia, V, p.211).

Based on this tradition, the early church fathers took the same direction. The "Epistle of Barnabas" written around 130 AD mentioned the same fact:

“Attend, my children, to the meaning of this expression, “He finished in six days.” This implieth that the Lord will finish all things in six thousand years, for a day is with Him a thousand years. And He Himself testifieth, saying, “Behold, to-day will be as a thousand years.” Therefore, my children, in six days, that is, in six thousand years, all things will be finished. “And He rested on the seventh day.”
This meaneth: when His Son, coming again, shall destroy the time of the wicked man, and judge the ungodly, and change the sun, and the moon, and the stars, then shall He truly rest on the seventh day”

Even Hippolytos, Justin Martyr and other church fathers adopted the same belief. A Historian summarized the early Church fathers interpretation of the Bible related to this division of ages and the millenuim:

“This period of millennial bliss corresponds to the seventh day of rest following the six days of creation described in Genesis. During this time the earth is marvelously fruitful. Jerusalem is magnificently rebuilt, and the righteous joyfully become accustomed to the new life of incorruption. After this preliminary regime of bliss has passed, a final judgment of all the world is instituted, and the new heaven and the new earth are revealed. In this final state of blessedness the redeemed shall live in the presence of God, world without end.”

3. The age of the Messiah started in 29 AD: The Bible clearly says that Jesus went to heaven and sat at the right Hand of God the father immediately after his resurrection. i.e. 40 days after the resurrection. (Acts 1: 3).

Based on the above, and per the Bible, Jewish tradition based on the Bible, and early Church fathers tradition: The Messiah (Christ) will reign for a thousand years on Earth which will start after 2000 years of the Christian Era.

Thus, this will be marked between March and May 2029.

Isn't this a year to wait for?!

The Gehenna that Jesus Spoke About (Brief Introduction)

When Jesus was speaking of "age-lasting punishment/purification" (wrongly translated "everlasting punishment") in Gehenna, He was addressing a topic very well known by his Jewish community, and the fake teaching of Eternal Conscious Torment is a perversion of that teaching...  The Valley of Hinnom (Ge-Hinnom)in 1900 (Wikipedia) One of the major Mistakes that Christians do, is try to understand the words of Jesus outside the cultural and linguistic context of the community in which Jesus lived. One of these words is the word Gehenna (wrongly translated to English as Hell in many translations). In Jewish traditions, Gehenna was a place where sinners go for 12 months. there they are either punished or purified, and after that, though their bodies vanish, their souls are then reunited with God in Ganna, the paradise of the book of Genesis. In the Targum (The ancient Aramaic paraphrased translation of the Old Testament), the term Gehenna is added to several
